Welcome to the Home Page of the Signalling Interest Group of Queensland, known simply as SIGQ.

SIGQ was founded in 2003 to provide a place where persons interested in the history and development of railway signalling and safeworking systems, specifically as used in Queensland, could share information.

An ongoing research program is collecting any available information about railway signalling and safeworking systems that were used in Queensland, which can be shared with others also interested. We are always seeking loans or donations of:
  • Photographs of signal cabins or signals.
  • Diagrams of signalling layouts of Queensland stations.
  • Old Train Notices.
  • Old Circular Memos.
  • Old Working Timetables.
  • and anything else which helps to document the history and development of railway signalling and safeworking systems used in Queensland.
If you have anything which can assist our research please contact us using the email link in the navigation box.

A Yahoo discussion group also exists for registered members to discuss relevant topics and share information with other members.
